Bay Head and Mantoloking Beach Replenishment Update

The Army Corps of Engineers intends to replenish the beach of Bay Head and Mantoloking and surrounding towns in 2023 and 2024.  Below are some key pieces of information about the project, from a variety of sources, including the Army Corps of Engineers website, and local government, and others.  All of this information is subject to change, and should be taken with a grain of salt (or more).

-The Avalon area contract was awarded by the Army Corps of Engineers in early January 2023.

- The contract for the Bay Head and Mantoloking areas will likely be awarded sometime in March 2023.

- Work is unlikely to start in these areas until late summer - the Army Corps website lists the schedule as Fall 2023 - Calendar Year 2024.

- Delay of start in work is due to a lack of availability of dredge equipment.

- The contract allows the contractor to decide on where to start work.
