    A few of our favorites...

When it comes to finding the perfect restaurant in New Jersey, there are endless options to choose from. However, three standout establishments that truly showcase the sushi and seafood in the area are Ikko Japanese Steakhouse in Brick, Taka in Asbury Park, and Spring Lake Seafood in Spring Lake.

Ikko Japanese Steakhouse in Brick is a beloved spot for those who crave authentic Japanese cuisine. The restaurant offers a traditional hibachi dining experience, complete with chefs who cook right in front of diners on large grills. In addition to hibachi, Ikko also has a sushi bar and a full menu of Japanese dishes to choose from. Some of the standout dishes include the shrimp tempura roll, the teriyaki chicken, and the miso soup. The atmosphere at Ikko is lively and fun, making it a great spot for groups and families.

Taka in Asbury Park, on the other hand, is a contemporary Japanese restaurant that blends traditional and modern flavors. The menu at Taka features a wide range of sushi rolls, sashimi, and small plates that are perfect for sharing. Some of the most popular dishes include the spicy tuna roll, the miso black cod, and the pork belly bao buns. The restaurant also has an extensive sake list, as well as craft cocktails and beer. The atmosphere at Taka is sleek and sophisticated, making it a great spot for a date night or a night out with friends (or a special occasion!).

Finally, Spring Lake Seafood in Spring Lake is a new take on an old classic - they offer some traditional seafood dishes, but also one-of-kind sushi and other seafood items. The menu features fresh seafood that is delivered daily, including favorites like lobster, crab cakes, and clam chowder, but also never before seen creations by Brad, the chef and owner.  The atmosphere at Spring Lake Seafood is cozy and inviting, with rustic decor and friendly service. The restaurant also offers a selection of wine and mocktails, but also allows BYOB, as well as outdoor seating during the warmer months.

When comparing and contrasting these three restaurants, it is clear that each has its own unique style and strengths. Ikko is perfect for those who love traditional Japanese cuisine and an interactive dining experience. Taka is great for those who want to explore modern takes on Japanese flavors and enjoy a sophisticated atmosphere. Spring Lake Seafood is a must-visit for anyone who craves unique sushi and seafood items, as well classic seafood dishes in a charming, cozy setting.

Overall, these three restaurants are some of our top picks for sushi and seafood in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Whether you are in the mood for sushi, hibachi, or seafood, these establishments offer something for everyone.
